Welcome! 5-7-19
Why Do I trust Him, ~God~?
Because He can't and won't lie to me! He is an eternal God. Whatever He says is. He never changes so I know He won't go back on His word to me and He wants the very best for me.
I was just thinking, I could give you many "religious" reasons I trust Him, reasons one would probably expect to hear. Truth is, I am huge on honesty! Just keep your word to me! He has done that! He met me where I was at and continues to do so. I have listened to a few messages on this subject, from those messages I know now why He can't lie, listed above.
I was talking to my prayer partner on the phone the other day having an awesome, uplifting, conversation when I mentioned I believe the reason people ~Christians~ have a hard time trusting God is that their word can't be trusted. She thought I should blog on that subject. So I am.
Truthfully, that is one reason I had to learn to trust God's word, I couldn't trust the word of most people ~Christians~. Honestly, even though I was raised in the church I did not see Gods word manifest much growing up which added to my apprehension of trusting God. Without going into lengthy detail, now that I am getting to know God, His word and His ways for myself I am understanding some of the reasons why I hadn't seen prayers answered, and it wasn't on Him!
This publishing is not to bring condemnation, but awareness and something to talk with God about.
There was a situation in my life, as I have stated in previous publishing's and in my first book titled ~So Thankful! Life Behind The Posts~, that seemingly was impossible. I did the only thing I knew to do, I put my trust in God and His word. His word promises me I have the victory through Jesus among many other promises. So I held onto it, I found out for myself, He didn't lie to me! He kept His word! Mere words cannot express how huge that was to me. I did my part and He did His.
Excerpt from my 1st book titled, ~So Thankful! Life Behind The Posts~.
"I hung onto God and His word, I knew He could not lie! At least that is what His word said. I had a choice to believe it or die inside. I chose to live!"
But it required some things of me, my time with Him in His word, in prayer and simple conversation with Him throughout the day, and having faith in His word. As I have spent quality time with Him I am coming to know His ways. As I spend time with Him He speaks to me about different situations in my life, giving me a word ~scripture~ to back up what He has said to me. His word is the final authority in my life, therefore no matter what the circumstances, I trust Him. When God shows me something and gives me a word ~scripture~ to back it, I trust that He will do what He told me He would do. Again, He won't lie to me! He is my best friend, He's been there for me on countless occasions when my heart was shattered as I cried myself to sleep.
If we don't trust what we say, how are we going to trust what God says? We are made in His image. I've had to slow myself down and pay attention when giving my word. I was guilty of not keeping my word, It definitely wasn't a habit but it happened. I didn't call it lying, but it was. Looking back that is also when I had a difficult time trusting Gods word, there was more to the trust issue in my life, but that was definitely a part of it. That is also when I wasn't spending quality time with Him. He took me to the end of myself to find Him.
When I was a little girl about 9 years of age I was invited to a friends home after church, I was given permission so I happily went. I was surprised to discover that my friend's mom was not the same at home as she was at church, that discovery put a lasting impact on my life. She wasn't horrible, but her mannerism was hard, not soft or nice. She was one way at church and another at home, at least that was the case that Sunday.
The world needs to see Christ Jesus in His church, not see His church ~Christians~ who are supposed to be transformed by the renewing of our minds trying to live a ~Christian~ life continuing to be a fence walker. Or see how far they can dip their toes in the world and still profess to live for Christ. The more I am on social media, the more saddened I have become as I read posts from Gods kids that should know better. My thoughts are, really!? are you kidding me!? People that don't know Jesus as their Lord and Savior are supposed to see Gods kids loving each other, not judging anyone! recognizing that we all bleed red no matter the color of our skin instead of dividing us up into categories. Jesus did not do that so why are His kids doing it???
I have been praying that God raises His people up in the fear, ~Reverance~ of the Lord with boldness, unwilling to compromise! That our eyes are opened to the enemies traps and the fog is lifted from our eyes. It's time to grow up!
I know that everyone has a bad day, I know I've had my share of them, but I also know if we call our selves a "Christian" we are being watched. My question is if someone is watching your life, listening to your conversations, or watching to see if you keep your word, even in the smallest of things, what are they going to see? Better yet, are they going to want Jesus, watching your life?
